The activities offered at our facility are designed to restore hope to the at-risk men, women and children in the neighborhood by building fruitful relationships. Despite the deep wounds experienced by this community, HIS Ministries stands firm in the belief that Christ alone has the power to transform and heal the most broken lives.
On Sunday mornings the community around HIS Ministries gathers to worship. Beginning at 10:00, in our dining hall, we praise God with prayer and music. Following this opening we share coffee, biscuits and fellowship. We are blessed with several lay clergy and local churches who volunteer to bring a word of grace and hope to those in attendance concluding around 11:00. The environment is casual and all seeking to learn more about God’s love are encouraged to attend.
Join us for our Spanish services every first and third Sunday of the month, starting at 4 pm and ending at 5 pm. Together, we will worship our loving Savior and explore the Word of God.
Our oldest and longest running program is the Men’s Bible Study on Tuesday mornings from 8:00 to 9:00 a.m. Men from our community and local churches meet for coffee and biscuits from Grandy’s restaurant followed by a study of God’s word led by HIS Ministries’ Volunteers. Discussion often centers on current issues facing our community and how to deal with those issues from a biblical perspective. All are welcome to join this lively group of approximately 20 men.
Tuesday mornings at 9:30 a.m. women from the community we serve join HIS Ministries volunteer leaders for heartfelt discussions about life and life with Jesus. The curriculum consists of books by Christian authors that touch the spiritual and emotional needs of women. The discussion prompted by these books brings the ladies closer to Christ and closer to each other. If you are looking for an opportunity to be enriched by the fellowship of followers of Jesus, please come join our group.
Fishers of Men is a men’s Bible fellowship of all ages and walks. Christ took everyday men and turned them into disciples, teachers, fathers and leaders. We use a simple and biblical process to accomplish the goal of equipping disciple makers: Study, Do, Teach (Ezra 7:10). Come join us every Tuesday at 6:30 pm for dinner followed by the Bible study.
Our Refuge Outgroup meets on Wednesdays at 10:30 a.m. and concludes with a luncheon at noon. God’s word in Matthew 22:37 says “love God with all your heart soul and mind” and verse 39 says “love your neighbor as yourself.”
This is a special time for us to come together. We are a no judgement zone. We are all dealing with life issues. Each learning to find truth in our identity in Christ. These revelations are healing and setting us free. We are finding mercy, grace, and forgiveness for ourselves and others.
We also give back through community ministries such as Skylark, women’s rehab, and children ministry. We are currently making blankets for Skylark, and fall goodie bags for House Of Cheirth in Atlanta, GA.
Every Friday night from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. we serve dinner to anyone in the community for free. Most Fridays the meals are provided and served by different church groups in Glynn County. This is a time for community fellowship and the joy of sharing God’s blessings with those that are less fortunate. All are welcome to join us!
