Beyond our walls….

Suppose a brother or sister is without clothes and daily food. If one of you says to him, “Go, I wish you well, keep warm and well fed” but does nothing about his physical needs, what good is it?       James 2:13-16

While we seek to provide activities and ministries within our facility, we recognize that we need to get outside those walls if we really want to touch the lives of the people in our community with God’s love.

Food is always a great way to attract people so on Tuesdays, after the men’s Bible study, several guys take the van around the neighborhood with sausage biscuits. It provides an opportunity to pray and talk with people on the street.  The third Saturday of each month several men gather to make bag lunches and then distribute those to people at Mary Ross Park, under “the tree,” and along Norwich street.  At first people were a little hesitant, but now they know there is food, fellowship, prayer and the love of Jesus whenever the HIS Ministries van arrives.
